Bright aluminum saw cut rings. These are the base of every single set of Chain Fallz™ and Metal Dreadz™. Every ring starts out as raw wire that is hand coiled and then hand-sawn into individual links. Each ring is woven one at a time to make every set of Fallz and Dreadz Mekanikal Angel sells.
Aluminum is 1/3 the weight of steel, making every set of Fallz and Dreadz deceptively light weight. Most pairs/sets are on par with a set of medium to large synthetic dread falls. This metal is easy to clean, just a quick dunk in warm soapy water and a little light rubbing gets it shiny and bright again in no time.
Anodized aluminum available in the colors pictured here. Available as a custom ring item and will add to lead time slightly.
Anodized aluminum has both it's pros and it's cons:
Pros -
1) Beautiful jewel tone colors with sparkling effects.
2) Light weight.
Cons -
1) The color can scratch off easily; these are best used as an accent color only and not for the bulk of your Fallz or Dreadz.
2) The cost can be prohibitive; anodized aluminum typically costs 5x more than standard bright aluminum, and 4x more than using rubber rings for your alternating color choices).
EPDM rubber rings are light weight and available in the colors shown here. Mekanikal Angel uses only EPDM rubber as it does not degrade after being exposed to light over time like it's cousin Neo-preen.
They have the added benefit of giving your Fallz and Dreadz a sculptural quality (with tighter weaves you can twist the strands and stand them in any direction you want) as well as making them stretchy! Stretchy hair is fun!
Anodized aluminum scales available in the colors shown here. Mix and match as few or as many colors as you want, or choose one solid color for a full set of Scale Fallz™. You can also add a color or two to the end of a standard set of Chain Fallz™ or Dreadz for a tear drop effect.
Various colors of plastic lacing are available for you to add as a bit of filler to your Fallz and Dreadz. Current in stock colors are pictured here. More neon and glitter lacings are available as well; contact Mekanikal Angel with your color request.
